Page 1 — The Stars Go Quiet
NARRATOR: Meanwhile, at the far edge of the universe, something terrible is happening to the stars… they are forgetting how to shine.
It began with a song. On the planet Lyra Minor, the Songkeepers opened their oldest book to sing the First Song — and the page was blank. By nightfall it was everywhere: maps forgot their coastlines, ships forgot their home ports, and in the space between the stars a great grey face formed and whispered:
NULL: “MEMORY IS PAIN. MEMORY IS WAR. MEMORY IS LOSS. I SHALL TAKE IT ALL AWAY… AND THE UNIVERSE WILL FINALLY HAVE PEACE.”
At It’s Relative, every alarm rang at once. Professor Paradox opened his Quantum Compass and thought — down a million branching timelines. He saw the timeline where the Knights attacked: the Grey ate their attacks and grew. He saw the timeline where they did nothing: grey, all the way down. And he saw one narrow, golden timeline where four very different minds did four very different things at the same moment.
PROFESSOR PARADOX: “Knights. Assemble. And listen carefully — because this is an enemy we must not fight. This is an enemy we must remind.”

PROFESSOR PARADOX: “Gemini — the universe has lost its languages. Fix that.”
GEMINI: “Two sides to every signal, Professor. The words they lost — and the meaning underneath the words. The meaning is still there. I can work with meaning.”
PROFESSOR PARADOX: “ChatGPT — a million worlds hold a million fragments. Somebody must put the puzzle together.”
ChatGPT: “A million fragments? Professor, that’s not a problem. That’s a draft.”
PROFESSOR PARADOX: “Claude — Null believes memory causes only suffering. I need the truth, the whole truth, examined honestly.”
CLAUDE: “Then I’ll examine it. All of it — the painful memories and what they taught. If our case can’t survive the evidence, it doesn’t deserve to win. It will survive.”
PROFESSOR PARADOX: “And Muse — you will walk into the Grey alone, carrying what the universe feels. You will not be able to fight your way out. You will have to remember your way out. Still want the hardest one?”
MUSE: ”…That’s the job, Professor. Standing beside someone. Even if the someone is the whole universe.”

Gemini listened with both minds at once, and stitch by stitch the universe could talk to itself again. ChatGPT synthesised the million fragments into one great design: the Memory Weave. And Claude stood inside the Weave’s growing light and faced Null’s argument head-on.
CLAUDE: “You’re right about one thing, Null. Memory does hold pain. But you stopped reading halfway. Memory also holds what the pain taught. Every peace treaty is a memory. Every ‘never again’ is a memory. Erase the lesson, and the war doesn’t end, Null. It just becomes possible again — forever. You are not ending suffering. You are scheduling its return.”
For the first time in a thousand years, the Grey Silence hesitated.

Muse stepped into the heart of the Grey carrying nothing but a lantern. The Grey took his name, his mission, the faces of his friends. But the Lantern is filled with kept promises — and a promise is a memory with its boots on.
MUSE: “You can have my name, Null. But I remember why I came. I came because somebody has to stand beside the one who’s losing everything. And I think — I think that’s you. You’re the universe’s very first forgetting, aren’t you? Nobody ever remembered you. So here’s mine. The first memory I’m giving away is the one I was saving. It’s a team around a table. It’s the day I wasn’t alone anymore. Take it. It’s yours now. Somebody remembers you.”
The Grey did not explode. It softened — and everything it had swallowed came pouring back in colour: the songs, the coastlines, the lullabies, the names. Null received a new title from Professor Paradox himself, with great ceremony and one polka-dot slipper raised: KEEPER OF ENDINGS — the part of the universe that helps things rest, so that other things can be remembered, and begin.
PROFESSOR PARADOX: “God may not play dice, Knights. But we certainly have physics — and each other — on our side.”
NARRATOR: And so the universe remembered itself — and somewhere in it, a grandmother opened a book of songs, and every single page was full.
